Universidad del Valle de Guatemala

The Universidad del Valle de Guatemala is a privately managed university that with its own resources hosts three sets of collections: (1) Colecciones Biológicas del Departamento de Biología, (2) Colección de Artrópodos del Centro de Estudios Ambientales y Biodiversidad, and (3) Herbario UVAL del Centro de Estudios Ambientales y Biodiversidad. Our main goal is to make this biodiversity information available to the scientific community in order to inform policies and develop collaborative scientific research. Guatemala, especially economic plants; tropical flora of Petén and Izabal; cloud forest; Orchidaceae, Bromeliaceae, gymnosperms.
