    This herbarium has been developed based on research collaborations with other herbaria such as KEW and RB. HERBAM participates in Brazilian projects about biodiversity studies such as BIONORTE (Biodiversity of the North of the Brazil), PPBIO (Biodiversity Brazilian Programm) ; REFLORA (repatriation of specimens KEW and Paris Museum); National Brazilian Forestry Inventory/IFN/SFB; Teles Pires river basin Dams. The herbarium staff consists of post graduate students and scholarship holder and specialist volunteers who have been contribuited species identifications, such as William Milliken, Daniela Zappi and others. Duplicates are sent to RB and KEW.
