Herbarium of the Orquidario y Jardín Botánico "Comitán"

The herbarium has three areas for its operation: Salix Mounting and Identification Area, Typha Collection Area and Laelia Exhibition Area The herbarium has its database on a website (www.semahn.chiapas.gob.mx/orquidiario/index.php), which can be consulted for anyone, and has an image bank of the plants collected more than 3,000 photographs. Each six months, is mounted an exhibition in the Laelia Area about herbarium collection and the flora of Chiapas. These exhibition are open all the public. The collection is mainly made up of plants of coniferous forests, Quercus forests, and wetland; the interest taxonomic groups are orchids, bromeliads, epiphytes, ferns and sedges.
