Description
The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Herbarium (NCU), a department within the North Carolina Botanical Garden, is one of the largest herbaria in the southeastern United States. Our collections include fossils (esp. Devonian plants), algae (esp. red marine), fungi & lichenized fungi (world-wide, focus on southeastern US), bryophytes (esp. North America), and vascular plants (world-wide, focus on southeastern US). NCU is open to researchers weekdays 9am - 5pm.
