Institute of Plant and Animal Ecology (IPAE)

The Institute of Plant and Animal Ecology of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPAE UB RAS) is the largest research institute of the ecological and biological profile in the Ural region, one of the leaders in basic research in the field of ecology and environmental protection in Russia. The biological collections of the Museum of the IPAE contain over a 1.5 million specimens, including 700.000 fossil animal remains, 200.000 recent animals samples, 300.000 insects and 300.000 plant specimens (Herbarium SVER).
