    Moore Laboratory of Zoology

    Description

    The Moore Laboratory of Zoology holds 62,000 bird specimens and 2,000 mammal specimens, most collected in Mexico between 1930 and 1955. It is the largest collection of Mexican birds in the world. It is located at Occidental College, a small liberal arts institution in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Eagle Rock. It was founded in 1951 by Robert T. Moore (1882-1958).
