Description
The Tsitsin Main Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences was organized in 1945 in Moscow, and headed in 1945-1980 by Nikolai Tsitsin (1898-1980). The Botanical Garden conducts research in plant diversity and conservation, plant physiology, horti- and agriculture. It keeps living plant collections, 18 thousand species and varieties, both outdoors and in greenhouses, and a herbarium of over 600 thousand specimens.
